Dr. Danny

Hi, I’m Dr. Danny, a professional Counselor and Coach

Prior to becoming a Powervul Counselor/Coach I was an entrepreneur. During that time I won some of the highest awards in my chosen fields. I was even fortunate enough to have some of my business efforts referenced in popular magazines, like Inc., Entrepreneur, and Franchising.

But, all the accolades and go-get-em business efforts weren’t enough to give me the validation and significance I was desperately trying to garner from the world — to move me from an unrecognized identity of shame into the adventure of being “transformed… with ever-increasing glory” (2 Cor 3:18).

So, Jesus took me on an epic journey where I, ironically, discovered the glory of my life amidst the vulnerability of shame.

Consequently, I went back to school for ten years of formal education and training; specifically to research and study who we really are as human beings because of who God actually is in the flesh (Jesus).

As well, I wanted to be trained and licensed in the art and science of transformation, so I could help people, just like yourself, be gloriously powervul.

Education

I’ve earned a Bachelors with an emphasis in Theo/New Testament Lit.: a Masters in Counseling/ Psychology; and a Doctorate of Ministry in Semiotics (signs, symbols and their interpretation).

My postgraduate studies allowed me the opportunity to study under the tutelage of renown Christian psychologists, theologians, and ministers such as Dr. Dan Allender; Dr. Leonard Sweet; and Dr. Dwight Friesen.

Family

I have been married for over 25 years to Kirsten, my powervul ally. We live on Bainbridge Island, WA, which is literally an island about 8.6 mi outside of Seattle by way of ferry.

Together, Kirsten and I have raised four children: Noah (23), Wilson (21), Lucy (19), and Annie-Grace (17). In honor of powerful-vulnerability, Kirsten (48) and I (52), are — very unexpectedly — now raising our fifth child, Theodore, nickname Teddy (1-11 months depending on when you’re reading this).
