Unfortunately, most of us haven’t been introduced to who we really are — precisely because we’ve been made to believe God is merely a loving, Almighty, ALL POWERFUL Being. In other words, by dismissing, or altogether negating the utter vulnerability of God, we’ve, ironically, thought of God as less than.

As those created in the “image” and “likeness” of a powervul God, we’ve, consequently, become divided within ourselves. Because, we assume that, like God, our power and vulnerably are set at odds, one against the other. Conflicted, we now quietly struggle in vain to make sense of our confusing thoughts and emotions.

Deeply split within ourselves, our vulnerability has, tragically, become the source of our greatest fears. And our glory, the source of our greatest shame. Is it any wonder we quietly suffer inside ourselves while putting on a smiley face for others?

When we don’t know who we really are, how God made us uniquely powervul, we feel discontented from others, unfulfilled in our potential, and not whole in our humanity. Worse, we’re left feeling alone, anxious, depressed, and/or despairing.

This can especially be true within our most significant relationships. Cue unresolved heartache, violence, and trauma; not to mention all the consequential addictions, divorce, and bad relationships.

Sadly, too many ministers and coaches try to help by offering you “principles” instead of a powervul presence. Thus, it can be difficult finding a qualified life changing (Christian) professional.

Wasting time and money trying to find the right fit only leads to compounded feelings of frustration and anger, confusion or despair. Shouldn’t the courageous step of asking for help be rewarded with clarity, and real answers and solutions?

So, Jesus took me on an epic journey where I, ironically, discovered the glory of my life amidst the vulnerability of shame.

Consequently, I went back to school (Bachelors in Theo/New Testament Lit.; MA in Counseling/Psychology; Doctorate of Ministry in Semiotics: signs, symbols and their interpretation) to research and study who we really are as human beings because of who God actually is in the flesh (Jesus).

As well, I wanted to be trained and licensed in the art and science of transformation, so I could help people, just like yourself, feel better and be better — by being gloriously powervul.

Discover who Jesus actually is. The powervulness of God is absolutely central to the overarching storyline within the biblical text, though, sadly, it’s been unnoticed, if not deliberately opposed both within and outside the Church. And yet, the powervulness of God is undeniably present throughout culture:

Think about it… Aren’t we most intrigued when power is made vulnerable and vulnerability is empowered? Hence why the dynamic relationship of power and vulnerability makes for the best literature, music, movies, and sports? We’re continually captivated by this powerful-vulnerable dynamic because God is, paradoxically, both: absolutely powerful and utterly vulnerable.

And, since we were created and redeemed in the glory of God’s “image” and “likeness”, the glory of God that you are is both powerfully vulnerable and vulnerably powerful. Though, tragically, the confluence of our power and vulnerability has left us feeling terribly scared of ourselves.

Feel better be better. For much of modern psychology it was believed our thoughts dictated our feelings, which determined our actions. However, current neuroscience and leading theories in human development tell us that our feelings play a predominant role in how we think, what we chose to do, and, thus, who we are.

In short, Powervul Counseling allows you to be better by feeling better about your powervul (powerful- vulnerable) self.
